NOW HIRING AT AGATHĒ BUILDERS...LEADING HAND CARPENTER
Build with purpose. Lead with care.
We’re looking for a Leading Hand Carpenter who takes pride in their craft and wants to be part of a team that genuinely cares — about the work, our clients, and the people we build with.
This role is ideal for someone ready to step into leadership on site, guide others by example, and contribute to building Healthy Homes that are thoughtfully planned, honestly executed, and built to last.
About the Role
As a Leading Hand Carpenter, you’ll play a key role on our sites, working across custom residential renovations and extensions. You’ll be hands-on with the tools while also supporting site flow, mentoring team members, and maintaining a high standard of workmanship throughout each stage of the build.
You’ll work closely with our Site Supervisors and Project Managers to ensure jobs run smoothly, safely, and with care — especially through complex structural and detail-driven stages.
What You’ll Be Doing
Carrying out all aspects of carpentry across custom residential projects
Leading by example on site, maintaining quality, pace, and professionalism
Guiding apprentices and carpenters, supporting workflow and coordination
Reading and interpreting plans, details, and site documentation
Maintaining clean, organised, and safe work sites
Supporting the delivery of well-built, considered homes — not rushed finishes
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you:
Hold a Certificate III in Carpentry
Have solid experience across all aspects of custom residential carpentry
Take pride in doing things properly — even when no one is watching
Are confident stepping into a leadership role on site
Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and supervisors
Own all necessary personal tools and have a work-appropriate vehicle
A keen interest or knowledge in healthy / high-performance building principles is a big bonus — this is what we live and breathe at AGATHĒ.
Why Work With Us
We believe great homes are built by people who feel supported, respected, and clear on what they’re working towards.
At AGATHĒ, you’ll find:
A team that genuinely cares about you and our clients
Projects that value planning, structure, and quality over shortcuts
Opportunities to grow into further leadership roles
Ongoing learning and exposure to healthier building methods
A calm, professional site culture where standards matter
This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to build a long-term career with a company that’s intentional about how and why we build.
Career Development
We’re committed to supporting people who want to grow.
That may look like:
Increased leadership responsibility on site
Mentoring and developing younger team members
Expanding your knowledge in healthy home construction
Long-term progression within the AGATHĒ team
If you care about improving your craft and being part of something well run, you’ll feel at home here.
How to Apply
If this role sounds aligned with how you want to work and grow, we’d love to hear from you.
